Itulah mengapa gejala atau tanda stroke bisa bervariasi pada tiap pengidap. Namun, umumnya stroke muncul secara tiba-tiba. Ada tiga gejala utama stroke yang mudah untuk dikenali, yaitu:
• Salah satu sisi wajah akan terlihat menurun dan tidak mampu tersenyum karena mulut atau mata terkulai.
• Tidak mampu mengangkat salah satu lengannya karena terasa lemas atau mati rasa. Tidak hanya lengan, tungkai yang satu sisi dengan lengan tersebut juga mengalami kelemahan.
• Ucapan tidak jelas, kacau, atau bahkan tidak mampu berbicara sama sekali meskipun penderita terlihat sadar.
Beberapa gejala dan tanda stroke lainnya, yaitu:
• Mual dan muntah.
• Sakit kepala hebat yang datang secara tiba-tiba, disertai kaku pada leher dan pusing berputar (vertigo).
• Penurunan kesadaran.
• Sulit menelan (disfagia), sehingga mengakibatkan tersedak.
• Gangguan pada keseimbangan dan koordinasi.
• Hilangnya penglihatan secara tiba-tiba atau penglihatan ganda.
Jika Anda mengalami gejala-gejala diatas ada baiknya untuk mengkonsultasikannya langsung ke dokter. Sehingga Anda bisa mengetahui lebih dini apakah gejala yang Anda alami merupakan benar gejala stroke atau tidak.
